I opened Vitality Family Healthcare in January 2023 because I wanted to practice medicine with nothing else in the way.
The model is called Direct Primary Care. You pay a flat monthly membership. There is no charge per visit, and labs, medications, and procedures come at wholesale cost. No copays, no deductibles, no insurance required.

I built the practice so there would be more time for the most important part, you. Your appointment runs 30 to 60 minutes, and I know your history, your family, and your goals, not just what's written in a chart.

You reach me directly. Call, text, email, or video, without going through a phone tree first.
When something comes up, you can usually be seen the same day or the next.

Longer appointments change what's possible in a visit. There is room to ask the second question, to work out what's causing a problem rather than managing the symptom, and to build a plan you'll actually follow. Most of what I do is preventive, and the goal is for you to need less medical care over time, not more.

I care for whole families, from newborns to grandparents. One doctor who knows all of you, across years, instead of a new face at every visit.

My training and background
I grew up in Atkinson, Nebraska, and I've built my life and my practice in this state. I went to medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and finished residency there in 2018 in a dual program covering both internal medicine and family medicine. That combination is part of why I'm comfortable managing complex, long-running conditions in a primary care setting.

I'm board certified in family medicine and in obesity medicine, with particular interest in preventive medicine, weight management, and longevity medicine.
​
A good deal of care that would otherwise mean a referral can be handled here in the office. I use an ultrasound to guide many procedures, including carpal tunnel release, joint and soft tissue injections, skin procedures and broken bone casting. You can see the full list on the services page.
Outside the clinic
I'm married to my high school sweetheart, Dr. Danika Peterson. We have four children: Adeline, Leon, Emmelyn, and Oliver.

When I'm not at the clinic, I'm usually working on a house project, in the shop woodworking, outside hunting or fishing, or cooking for the people I love.
